Holocaust Forgotten or RevisitedSunday, July 13, 2014
By way of introduction, author Stephen Bonsal was an American diplomat, journalist, war correspondent, and translator. It was in the latter capacity that he served President Woodrow Wilson during the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. This book features informal discussions about such things as the Balfour Declaration, the relationship between Croats and Serbs, the ownership of the city of Fiume, the German confiscation of Schleswig-Holstein from the Danes, and the Polish delegation at Versailles. I now focus on the latter. >>more...Sunday, June 15, 2014
History and collective memories influence a nation, its culture, and institutions; hence, its domestic politics and foreign policy. That is the case in the Intermarium, the land between the Baltic and Black Seas in Eastern Europe. The area is the last unabashed rampart of Western Civilization in the East, and a point of convergence of disparate cultures. >>more...
The Warriors: My Life As A Jewish Soviet Partisan (Religion, Theology, and the Holocaust) Paperback Germen killed Jews in JedwabneSunday, June 15, 2014
Zissman describes a time a prewar Poland during which he had a rosy view of Communism. He does not explain how he could have thought this in view of such things as the ruthless totalitarianism and the removal of Jews from top positions in the Soviet Union by Stalin in the mid-1930's. Or how could he be ignorant of these facts? >>more...Sunday, June 15, 2014
Most of this anthology is about the unfolding Holocaust in Nazi German occupied eastern Poland, western Soviet Union, and eastern Romania. I limit my review to general comments about the USSR and specific comments about Poland. This book is of variable quality (hence my 3-star rating), and much of it (especially Marci Shore's chapter on Jedwabne) rehashes old information >>more...
INFERNO Of CHOICES : MARGINAL EVENTS , ANATOMY , SOURCE , COURSE of MASSACRE IN JEDWABNE ,10 July 1941Thursday, May 15, 2014
“ The Jedwabne pogrom (pronounced [jɛdˈvabnɛ]) of July 1941 during German occupation of Poland, was a massacre (pogrom) of at least 340 Polish Jews, of all ages. These are the official findings of the Institute of National Remembrance, "confirmed by the number of victims in the two graves, according to the estimate of the archeological and anthropological team participating in the exhumation," wrote prosecutor Radosław J. Ignatiew, who headed an investigation in 2000–2003 ordered by the Polish government. >>more...Sunday, April 27, 2014
The most popularized version of the massacre in Jedwabne , and the most fantastic , detached from reality , full of presumptions, of controversial comments , suggestions , insinuations, and vast implications , or bizarre narrative historiosophical was written by Jan Tomasz Gross >>more...Sunday, April 20, 2014
This work includes the early-postwar testimonies of rabbis, and their lucid and moving description of the sufferings of the Jews. This included not only the brutal murders of 6 million innocent men, women, and children, but also the systematic destruction of centuries of Jewish civilization. The heartfelt descriptions brought me to tears.Sunday, April 20, 2014

W opinii wielu Polaków gros kadry oficerskiej tajnej policji politycznej w powojennej Polsce stanowili Żydzi. >>more...
