Żydzi kłócą się między sobą

Thursday, October 17, 2013
>>more...

Lonek Skosowski: koniec żydowskich kolaborantów Gestapo;

Saturday, September 21, 2013
Najbardziej kontrowersyjny chyba to przypadek Elke Sirewiza. Załatwił on sobie fałszywe papiery na nazwisko Fritz Scherwitz. Został członkiem NSDAP. Służył w SS jako Obersturmführer. Był komendantem obozu koncentracyjnego w Lenta pod Rygą na Łotwie. Osobiście nadzorował mordy Żydów i gwałcił Żydówki.1 >>more...

The Yearsof Extermination: Nazi Germany and the Jews, 1939-1945

Tuesday, September 17, 2013
Instead of repeatingother reviewers, I generally consider other matters. The comprehensive natureof this work is obvious, and the author has clearly tried to examine issuesfrom multiple angles.

n Those Terrible Days: Writings from the Lodz Ghetto

Sunday, September 15, 2013
Having read many diaries of the Polish Jews who had been locked in ghettos, by the Germans, prior to their shipment to the death camps, I find that this one stands out. It includes heart-wrenching descriptions, such as that of mothers shrieking for many hours after their children had been taken from them, by the Jewish ghetto police, to fulfill a quota (for the death camps). >>more...

tranger in Our Midst: Images of the Jew in Polish Literature

Saturday, January 5, 2013
This book is not one that analyzes images of the Jew in Poland per se. Rather, it is an anthology of otherwise-disconnected separate articles about Poland's Jews. The articles are serialized according to time, beginning with Jews in Poland several centuries ago, and ending with post-Holocaust times. The articles include those by Polonized Jews such as Julian Tuwim and Antoni Slominski. >>more...

The political history of PolandUnderstanding the Litwaks, Endeks, Judeopolonia, Bogus Pogrom Accounts,

Friday, October 19, 2012
Lewinski-Corwin covers a lot of Polish history and, owing to the breadth and depth of the material, I only focus on a few issues. His work is especially useful in understanding the course of the anti-Russian November Insurrection (1830)(pp. 426-on) and the January Insurrection (1863)(pp. 471-on). His treatment of the late 19th century Prussian exploitation of Poland, and how the Poles thwarted and outdid the Germans, is recounted in considerable detail. (pp. 521-527). >>more...

When Nationalism Began to Hate: Imagining Modern Politics in Nineteenth-Century Poland . Dmowski and Jews

Monday, October 15, 2012
This book has value in tracing certain 19th century developments in thinking, such as that of the positivists, the Polish left, and anti-independence Polish socialists. It also has a helpful section on the intensity of the Russification of that part of Partitioned Poland under tsarist Russian rule. (p. 79-on). It took on brutal dimensions. (p. 87). >>more...

Inferno of choices: Poles and holocaust HISTORIC SCHOOL OF JEDWABINYSTYC THOUGHT (1): IT GOVERNS AND PUBLISHES

Friday, August 24, 2012
It’s totally unprecedented and never found in the ancient of present diplomacy that Official part of the government” Ministry of foreign affairs is distributing the writing exposing marginal behavior (socialy condemned) of few handed, or a few thousands its disgruntled citizens (it’s difficult to be established if they were Jewish, polish, or germen origin- like letters “Dear Mr. Gestapo”). >>more...

The Jews in Polish Culture / Aleksander Hertz ; Translated by Richard Lourie ; Editor, Lucjan Dobroszycki ; with a Foreword by Czeslaw Milosz (Hardcover)

Tuesday, January 10, 2012
This is a "meaty" book. Its vintage (1961) may be advantageous in terms of a unique perspective that preceded political correctness.

Jewish "apartheid" did not reduce to a simple dialectic: "Anti-Semites have heaped the entire responsibility for the caste organization onto the Jews; the Jews and their non-Jewish defenders, onto the Christian environment." (p. 63). Early pro-assimilationist Polish Jews had the following opinion: "Czynski the Frankist and Hollaenderski and Lubliner, who kept their old religion, all shared the view that Polish Jews were `sunk in superstition' and were thereby alienated from Polish life, economically unproductive, and deficient in civic virtue. The source of the problem was ignorance, superstition, the Talmud, the rule of the rabbis." (p. 22). Early assimilated Polish Jews were ennobled. (p. 64). >>more...

Jewish separatism and human progress

Thursday, November 10, 2011
SEPARATYZM ZYDOW...(JEWISH SEPARATISM...) is the title of this Polish-language booklet. Originally published as an article in a Warsaw publication in 1909, it came out before the intensification of Polish-Jewish conflicts caused by the 1912 Jewish vote for a pro-Russian candidate to the Duma (Russian parliament), which amounted to a direct attack on Polish national aspirations, and which provoked the Dmowski-led retaliatory boycott of Jews. >>more...
