Theological Liberalism With an Idealistic Understanding of Judaism,

Friday, May 1, 2015
This work includes a wealth of information, dealing with such concepts as the Character of God, the afterlife, ethics, angels, the dual nature of the human spirit, and much more. The author presents evidence for the widespread extent of the ancient belief in the immortal soul that is independent of the body (pp. 286). Belief in the immortal soul is also part of Judaism, thus inadvertently refuting the claim that it was copied by Christians from the Greeks. On another subject, author Kaufman Kohler treats the Tosefta as part of the Talmud. (p. 402). >>more...

Herzl’s vision of the State of Israel was one in which the Arabs would welcome the Jews, and both peoples would live in amity. (p. 407). Instead, precisely the opposite happened. >>more...

FROM THE CHMIELNICKI PERSECUTION OF THE JEWS IN POLAND

Thursday, April 16, 2015
The following scenario of the 17th-century Khmelnitsky (Chmielnicki) revolt is commonly presented in Ukrainian-Jewish dialogue: The Polish nobility and Jesuits oppressed the Cossacks. Jews were pawns of the nobility. The Jews merely transmitted the orders of the Polish overlords, and then became the innocent victims of Cossack anger over the Polish policies >>more...
